Cookie policy

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a site stores on your device to carry information from one request to the next, for instance to keep you logged in or to remember how far you've got in a multi-step form.

Cookies we use today

At present we set only the cookies the site strictly needs to run: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and holds your quote request together as you move through its steps; a security (CSRF) token that stops the site's forms being submitted on your behalf from another site; and two further cookies that remember your own cookie choice (covered in the next section) so we don't ask again on every visit.

Spanish and EU cookie law doesn't require your prior consent for strictly necessary cookies like these, precisely because the site couldn't work without them.

Your cookie choice

The first time you land on the site, a banner lets you accept all cookies, accept only the necessary ones, or set your own choice across three categories: Necessary (always on), Analytics and Marketing. That choice is stored in a cookie so it carries over to future visits, along with the date, the version of this policy you agreed to, and the option you picked.

Whichever option you pick, no analytics or marketing cookies are actually set today, the next section explains why. Once we do introduce them, only the categories you've agreed to will be switched on; nothing non-essential is ever set retroactively or before you've made a choice.

You're free to change your mind at any time via the "Manage cookie preferences" link in the site footer, which reopens the banner with your current settings already filled in.

Cookies we don't use yet

Right now we don't set any analytics or marketing cookies or tags, even if you accept those categories in the banner, no such tool is wired into the site yet. When we do add one, it will run only for visitors who've consented to the matching category, and this page will be updated beforehand to describe precisely what it sets and why.

Managing cookies

Your browser's own settings let you view, manage and delete cookies, and you can revisit your consent choice at any time through "Manage cookie preferences" in the site footer. Since every cookie we currently set is strictly necessary (including the ones remembering your cookie choice), blocking them can break parts of the site, such as the quote request flow, and can make the banner reappear on every visit.

Changes to this policy

Whenever the cookies we actually set change, we'll update this page, so it always describes real, current behaviour rather than a generic statement.
